I loved chatting with Bob about his time in the RAF, although it made me green with envy at the exotic locations that he served at. He always had time to listen to my more modern recollections of the RAF and was interested in the places I had been to. Of all of the places we spoke of we had RAF Odiham, in Hampshire, in common. It was my very first posting from early 1977 to late 1979 and although a lot had changed since Bob was stationed there, a lot remained the same....in particular the traditions, the camaraderie, the sense of humour to name but a few!

Bob was a lovely man, a true gentleman, who shall remain in my memory and my heart always.
